Signing in and passwords

Sign in with an emailed code, a password or Google, and how to add a password to your account.

Three ways to sign in

You can sign in to Twilight with any of these, and switch between them whenever you like:

  • An emailed code. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we send you a 6-digit code to type in. Your account doesn't need a password for this.
  • A password. Choose Use a password instead on the sign-in page. Once you've signed in with a password, that browser opens on the password field next time, so you can skip the code.
  • Your Google account. Choose Continue with Google on the sign-in or sign-up page. If you already have a Twilight account with the same email address, this signs you in to that account. On a free trial, it saves your account and keeps your edits.

No Google button?

Facebook, Instagram and some other apps open links in their own built-in browser, and Google doesn't allow sign-in there, so we hide the button. Open the page in Safari or Chrome to use Google, or sign in with an emailed code. Codes work in every browser, even if you normally use Google.

Add a password to your account

If you signed up with an emailed code, your account doesn't have a password yet. If you're still on a free trial, save your account with your email first. Then, to add a password:

  1. Sign in with a code.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Under Password, type your new password twice and choose Save password. It needs at least 8 characters.

If you haven't signed in recently, we may email you a code to confirm it's you first.

Change your password

Use the same Password section in Settings → Account. Your new password replaces the old one straight away, and we'll email you to confirm it changed. If you get that email and it wasn't you, reset your password right away and contact support.

Forgot your password?

On the sign-in page, choose Use a password instead, then Forgot password?, and we'll email you a link to set a new one. The link lasts 60 minutes. It also works if you've never had a password, so it's a way to create your first one.

You can always sign in with an emailed code instead, even if you have a password.

"That email and password don't match"

Either the password is wrong, or your account doesn't have a password yet. For your security, the message is the same in both cases. Use Forgot password? to set one, or choose Email me a code instead.

The code didn't arrive

Check your spam folder, and that the address on screen is the one you signed up with. You can ask for a new code after 60 seconds. If it still doesn't arrive, contact support.
